He is a former member of the Deliverance Church movement, the Apostolic Church, and has served as organist, minister of music and assistant pastor to the COGIC(Church Of God In Christ) and MBC(Missionary Baptist Church) . In 1987 he formed the Bread Of Life Outreach Teaching Ministries Radio Broadcast, and Bread Of Life Institutional Ministries. In 1992 he founded and became Senior Pastor BOLFWCC: Bread Of Life Family Worship Center (now Bread Of Life Faith & Works Community Churches, where his wife (Pastor Beverly A. Haywood, Mdiv) is Co-Pastor/Overseer, and he serves as Senior Pastor and Apostle. Bishop Haywood has a passion to plant churches and develop ministers and ministries to further the borders of God's Kingdom.

As an influential leader and goodwill ambassador, Bishop Haywood is highly regarded throughout the religious, local civic and business community. He is also founder and president of FDL MultiRacial Community Center and Citizen Action Council and serves as community liaison to several law enforcement and government agencies.

From the New Orleans Housing Project's Desire Community Center he studied Martial Arts through the KBK-System (Kuro Bushi Kai Karate Do Kempo) competed in numerous tournaments receiving trophies and awards and received his 1st degree black belt in 1973 and his 4th-Deree Black Belt in 2001 both from the Late-Grandmaster Ferdinand T. Bigard, Jr (his first great influence) and was nominated in 2009 to the Midwest Karate Hall of Fame.   "Sensei Haywood" is chief instruction and founder of "Kingdom Warriors Christian Martial Arts Academy."

Bishop Haywood holds several ministerial credentials, service awards and certifications, and has appeared on local television and  in local business and political newspaper stories.  Although he received a Doctorate of Divinity and Masters of Theology bestowed upon him in 2002 by the Midwest Theological Institute of Chicago, he treasures what he calls a <Double-PHD in Front line "hard knocks" Outreach Ministry>   As a prolific man of God with a passion for ministry, Bishop Haywood is part of the driving force to a new era in church ministry.

He received a prophetic word of Apostolic mandate from the Lord as early as 1978 and was anointed into the Apostleship over 22-years later in 2001 by the "Five Fold Apostolic Gathering Network of Churches and Apostles."   Bishop Haywood believes that it is the responsibility of the church to reach out to the lost, hungry and hurting, and to lead them.

Bishop Haywood firmly believes that the UFCCM is one of the end time instruments that God is using to organize and position His people to a mandate that demands the continuous duplication of biblical training, serious ministry, support in discipleship, and the release of giftings and callings in the people of God for Kingdom work. This demands impartation of anointing to equip, commission, and to send forth His people.
